MTC is a great place to meet people with a similar interest in triathlon. Our regular eNews, available to members only, will keep you up to date with the latest events, races and any other important MTC community information.
Regular Social Events
MTC hosts a HUGE range of social gatherings and events. We love seeing as many members and their partners, family, friends, housemates and pets at these events. Believe it or not, there IS more to life than swim, ride or run!
Saturday Morning Bunch Rides
‘This Is How We Roll’
ALL members are welcome to join in on the Saturday bunch rides that form an integral part of the Fluid Movements training program. These usually alternate between flat and hill rides of varying distances for all ability levels. Partners or friends are welcome and as always, the rides are followed with a good coffee or breakfast!
Season Opening Party (November)
‘Get The Party Started’
Winter is FINALLY over and the first races of the season are looming, so we get everybody together to kick the season off with a BANG – stay tuned to e-News updates. This one keeps you on your toes and changes to something different every year.
Christmas Party (December)
‘Jingle Bells, No More Gels!’
The BEST Christmas party you’re likely to attend. Includes favourites you might remember from last year, including: Bling your Bike and the annual MTC Bake Off.
Gatorade B’fasts/Short Course Celebrations (Elwood Gatorade/March)
‘Sweat The Small Stuff’
Short stacks, OJ shots… Basically a chance to celebrate all things short and fast: MTC hosts a breakfast in the MTC tent following the Race 5 of the Gatorade Series (Elwood) in March.
‘Celebrate In Style’
This night doubles as the Fluid Movements Awards night. It is a chance to recognise the achievements of individuals over the past season from beginners to old hats or from the fast and furious to spectacular supporters… you get the idea. There are formal awards, not-so-formal awards, drinks, food, dancing, and most importantly: NO LYCRA!
Beginner Course Graduation Celebrations
‘My name is John and I am a Triaholic’
An informal celebration of the graduation of our beginner athletes from their 6 week introductory course. We congratulate them all on completing the first stages of a lifelong addiction to healthy exercise. Mostly includes beer, wine and good times.
‘Sit Back and Chillax’
Close off a hectic month of swimming, riding, running, working, learning and everything in between with a chilled out non physical something and some good friends. Stay tuned to e-News updates, these sessions search out a different Melbourne experience each time.
Training Camps (Winter/Shepp)
Hosted by our preferred and all-round favorite training provider: Fluid Movements. Usually a great weekend of challenging training sessions and a great chance to get to know your fellow MTC and FM members.
A chance for all members to find out what has been going on behind the scenes that has made the club ROCK for the past year. We review the official stuff, give our thanks to those committee members not continuing on and officially vote in new members. Of course, there is also food involved!
Regular information sessions on all things tri related. This includes: Medical information sessions (Karen Holzer), Nutrition for Triathletes (Alan McCubbin), Bicycle Maintenance (CBD Cycles), Footwear and Running shoe information evening (Active Feet) to name a few.
Each winter MTC hosts one race of the Brooks Duathlon Series. In 2010 we are proud to announce that the MTC Duathlon is the Official Victorian Duathlon Championship Race!
